Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is partnering with a leading global manufacturer to recruit a Sourcing Specialist in Penang. The role focuses on managing vendor relationships, optimizing procurement costs, and driving strategic sourcing initiatives with a monthly salary of up to RM8,000.

Responsibilities include cost benchmarking, supplier performance evaluation, alternate sourcing, contract negotiations, and cross-functional audits.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or vendor management in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of sheet metal, plastics, or custom engineered components.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and PLM tools.
• Willingness to travel on short notice for regional supplier evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Execute cost structure evaluations and market pricing benchmarks to reduce component costs.
• Oversee vendor performance evaluations and maintain the supplier registry with scorecards.
• Lead alternate sourcing programs to secure local and regional component supply for production lines.
• Negotiate procurement contracts, payment terms, and delivery parameters.
• Coordinate with quality and engineering for supplier audits and component evaluations.
