Job summary

Critical Manufacturing in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Deployment Engineer to implement our MES framework in customer environments worldwide, setting up VMs via ISO on Hyper-V and VMware, and configuring Kubernetes on-premises or in the cloud.

You will act as a technical expert and trusted advisor, engaging with international customers and ensuring satisfaction through clear English communication and robust deployment practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux administration experience (networking, volumes, logs, services).
• Hands-on experience with VMware or Hyper-V (VM setup, config, snapshots).
• Solid knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift for deployment and troubleshooting.
• Excellent English, both spoken and written.
• Strong problem-solving, log-oriented troubleshooting, independent work.
• Great time management, organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills; proactive and collaborative; willingness to engage with Chinese-speaking customers

Responsibilities

• Review installation pre-conditions for apps and MES environments, identifying risks early and preventing blockers before execution.
• Lead remote installations - Execute smooth, remote installations of applications and MES environments, aligning closely with customers to guarantee seamless setup.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues by analyzing logs, containers, and system events—resolving issues swiftly during or after installations.
• Provide infrastructure consulting on environment-related questions, clarifying responsibilities and reducing risks.
• Collaborate with colleagues, partners, and customers through tickets, email, and meetings, fostering productive collaboration.
• Drive continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned and contributing to best practices
