Qualifications

• Significant experience as a General Ledger Accountant, particularly with experience in audit firm.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with other departments and auditors.
• Tax knowledge, a fundamental understanding of tax principles or prior experience with tax-related processes.

Responsibilities

• Record, classify, and reconcile all financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner
• Create and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Ensure financial records comply with regulatory standards and that accounting procedures are followed
• Collaborate with and support both internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and insights
• Analyse financial data to provide insights, support budgeting and forecasting, and identify trends
• Authorize balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of accounts
• Lead and authorize month-end and year-end closing activities
• Review and approve financial reports for management and statutory purposes
• Implement and enforce internal controls over GL transactions
• Recommend process improvements and system enhancements for GL operations
