Job summary

Wilmar GBS Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a Financial Accountant to support end-to-end accounting processes within our Global Shared Service Centre. This role offers exposure to a Fortune 500 company's fast-growing SSC environment and broadening accounting knowledge.

You will handle general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and cost analysis, while maintaining data accuracy in SAP and Excel.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong accounting knowledge required.
• 2–3 years of accounting or audit experience.
• SAP knowledge or SSC experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Flexible to support different time zones.
• Able to handle tight timelines.
• Action oriented with good analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end general ledger activities, including journals, allocations, inventory valuations and period-end closings.
• Perform fixed assets accounting, capitalization, depreciation, reporting and analysis.
• Balance sheet reconciliation and resolution of open items.
• Intercompany reconciliations and reporting with required parties.
• Bank reconciliations and bank clearing coordination.
• Prepare reports for group and local reporting.
• Perform costing and cost analysis.
• Maintain vendor and customer master data as needed.
• Drive process improvements with the local team.
