Job summary

OCK GROUP OF COMPANIES is seeking a capable accounting professional in Shah Alam to oversee day-to-day general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of financial records. The role supports monthly closing, reporting, reconciliations, and audits.

Responsibilities include posting journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies, with strong focus on accuracy and compliance. ACCA/CPA or related qualifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in General Ledger.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience in month-end closing and account reconciliation.
• Good Excel and accounting system skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or MIA qualification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day general ledger accounting activities and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, provisions, reclassifications, depreciation, and other adjustments.
• Verify all AP and AR invoices posting, staff expenses claims and payment transactions.
• Perform monthly balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, unusual balances, and accounting variances.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment and supporting documentation for all transactions.
• Prepare month end bank reconciliations.
• Coordinate and perform month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial reports within established deadlines.
• Perform financial analysis and ensure timely and proper monthly closing and management reporting.
• Maintain up-to-date Fixed Asset Listing and Balance Sheet Item Schedule for Audit and Tax Purposes.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
