HITACHI ENERGY MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking a General Accountant to join our Finance team in Malaysia.

You will support a broad range of general accounting activities, including month-end closing, reconciliations, financial reporting, statutory audit, and tax-related activities, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure accurate reporting. Role requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with hands-on audit

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting and auditing experience.
• Hands-on experience supporting statutory audits and working with external auditors.
• Good understanding of general accounting processes, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience or knowledge of SAP is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and deliver accurate work within required timelines.

• Support day-to-day general accounting activities, including journal entries and general ledger processing.

• Support Tax Manager with tax-related activities and e-invoicing processes.
• Prepare Accounts Payable reporting and payment reports.

Job Description: We are looking for a General Accountant to join our Finance team in Malaysia. In this role, you will support a broad range of general accounting activities, including month-end closing, reconciliations, financial reporting, statutory audit, and tax-related activities. You will work closely with the Finance Team Lead, Business Unit Controllers, internal stakeholders, external auditors, and the CSS Hub to help ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with hands-on audit and general accounting experience who is looking to further develop their career within an international organization.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Support the Finance Team Lead with day-to-day general accounting activities, including journal entries, general ledger processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Support statutory audit activities and work closely with external auditors to facilitate the audit process.
• Assist the Tax Manager and Finance Team Lead with tax-related activities.
• Support e-invoicing activities and related finance processes.
• Prepare and manage Accounts Payable reporting, including GRIR and payment reports.
• Conduct bi-yearly balance sheet reviews with Business Unit Controllers.
• Support the timely and accurate completion of month-end closing and global reporting requirements.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis as required by management.
• Work closely with the CSS Hub to support timely and accurate closing activities.
• Ensure accounting records and financial reports are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant accounting procedures and internal controls.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
