Qualifications

• Recognised early childhood education qualification or teaching diploma.
• Proven experience working with young children in a playschool, nursery or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of child development and play-based learning approaches.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and parents.
• Patience, creativity and genuine enthusiasm for working with young children.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that stimulate learning and development.
• Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection requirements.
• First aid certification or willingness to obtain this qualification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate learning activities and play-based programmes that promote cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.
• Create a safe, welcoming and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Observe and assess individual children's progress and development, maintaining detailed records and sharing observations with parents and guardians.
• Implement daily routines including meals, rest time and hygiene practices while ensuring children's safety and wellbeing.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, behaviour and developmental milestones.
• Support children's emotional development by providing comfort, guidance and positive reinforcement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in approaches and to create a cohesive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, incidents and any relevant documentation.
• Adhere to all health, safety and child protection policies and procedures.
