Job summary

OneJar in Malaysia is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and maintain web applications across the full stack. You will collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers to translate designs into production-ready features in a hybrid work setting.

The role requires 3+ years in full-stack development with Angular and Python FastAPI, RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL, and containerized deployments with Docker. Kubernetes experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum of 3 years working as a Full-Stack Developer or similar role.
• Experience with Angular.
• Experience with Python (Django/Flask/FastAPI).
• Strong RESTful APIs, FastAPI, asynchronous programming, and SOA.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience developing microservices and Docker.
• RabbitMQ or Kafka is a plus.
• Some Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Git and CI/CD.
• Experience with testing frameworks.
• Understanding web security standards.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain front-end and back-end components of web applications according to specified business requirements.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers to translate design mockups and functional requirements into fully working features.
• Build responsive, cross-browser user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks.
• Design and implement server-side logic, RESTful APIs, and database schemas to support application functionality.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to coding standards and best practices across the full stack.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security on both client and server sides.
• Implement Unit, Integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Work closely with the QA team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs or issues across the stack.
• Define and document technical specifications, including appropriate technology choices and workflows.
• Manage and integrate databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and third-party services/APIs.
• Participate in sprints ceremonies such as sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in front-end and back-end technologies.
• Other duties as deemed necessary by their superior from time to time.

• Experience developing microservices and managing containerized applications (Docker).
• Some experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka is a plus.
• Some level of experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
• Proficient in version control and CI/CD tools such as Git.
• Experience with testing frameworks.
• Understanding of web security standards and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
