Segi Fresh is seeking a Full Stack Developer to build and modernise web applications, internal tools, and APIs with AI-assisted coding approaches. You will collaborate with business and IT teams to support retail and operations, delivering secure and scalable solutions.

Requirements include 2–5 years in full-stack development, strong frontend and backend tech (React, Next.js, Vue.js, Node.js, Python, Laravel), and experience with relational databases.

Qualifications

• 25 years of handsd on experience in full-stack software development.
• Strong experience in developing and deploying web applications and RESTful APIs.

Full Stack Developer (Modern Web, API & AI-Assisted / Vibe Coding)

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to build and modernise web applications, internal tools, APIs, system integrations, and automated data workflows. You will work closely with the Software Development Manager and various business and IT teams to develop solutions that directly support our retail and business operations.

The role also embraces AI-assisted software development, using tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and other AI technologies to improve development speed, productivity, and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Full Stack Development

Develop responsive web applications and internal business tools using modern frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue.js, Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Laravel.

Build, enhance, and maintain scalable and secure applications.

Modernise existing legacy applications and improve application architecture and performance.

2. API & System Integration

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and webhooks to integrate internal applications with systems such as POS, WMS, SAP ERP, and CRM.

Implement secure authentication, authorisation, data validation, and role-based access controls.

Troubleshoot and improve system integration and data exchange issues.

3. Data & Workflow Automation

Develop automated workflows and integrations using n8n, APIs, webhooks, and custom scripts.

Support automated data feeds for reporting and analytics platforms such as Power BI.

Monitor data synchronisation and troubleshoot integration failures.

Develop and optimise database queries, stored procedures, schemas, and migration scripts.

Work with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

Support database performance tuning, indexing, and data migration activities.

5. AI-Assisted Development & Software Quality

Utilise AI coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or OpenAI tools to accelerate development, debugging, and prototyping.

Review, test, and validate AI-assisted code to ensure security, reliability, maintainability, and performance.

Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.

6. Deployment & Documentation

Use Git/GitHub/GitLab for source control and collaborative development.

Support CI/CD pipelines and containerisation using tools such as Docker and GitHub Actions.

Maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and troubleshooting guides.

Job Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

2–5 years of hands‑on experience in full-stack software development.

Strong experience in developing and deploying web applications and RESTful APIs.

Good knowledge of frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, Vue.js, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, or Tailwind CSS.

Experience with backend technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Laravel.

Strong knowledge of relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

Experience with API integration, webhooks, data automation, or ETL workflows.

Familiarity with Git, Docker, and CI/CD practices.

Experience using AI coding assistants such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar tools is an advantage.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with IT and business stakeholders.

Added Advantage

Experience with n8n, Power BI, Redis, or cloud platforms.

Experience in retail, POS, WMS, ERP, CRM, or supply chain systems.

Knowledge of retail transactions, inventory, barcode, store operations, or loyalty systems.

Experience in modernising or integrating legacy systems.

Currently office based Kelana Business Centre, Petaling Jaya (near to Glenmarie LRT station)

Moving to Wisma Segi office at Kampung Melayu Subang, Shah Alam Q1-Q3 2027.
