Job summary

Bowtie Life Insurance Company is seeking an experienced frontend engineer to develop customer-centric web features across Bowtie's applications. You will collaborate with product, design, data, and engineering teams to ship polished interfaces and scalable components.

This role emphasizes accessibility, performance, and adopting Bowtie's design system, while enabling flexible work arrangements to support a balanced schedule.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering across the full development life-cycle.
• Proficient with ReactJS or other modern JS frameworks (VueJS, Angular, etc.).
• Solid understanding of core web concepts, semantic HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts.
• Ability to present and explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Startup experience is a plus but not required.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and ability to lead, plan, and execute complex projects.
• Autonomous; take ownership of work and details throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Develop and ship customer-centric frontend features for Bowtie's web applications.
• Contribute to projects like customer portal, group insurance portal, healthcare apps, and insurance workflow system.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, design, and engineering from conception to testing and rollout.
• Identify new approaches, improve developer experience, and remove friction from Bowtie design implementations.
• Drive adoption of Bowtie's design system across all apps and integrations through cross-functional collaboration.
• For senior roles, grow the team by attracting, onboarding, and coaching juniors.
• Build accessible and customer-centric web applications to support Bowtie's mission.
