Job summary

Sandisk is seeking a fresh graduate Associate Mechanical Design Engineer (Artificial Intelligence) in Penang. The role focuses on integrating classic machine learning with Generative AI to support process applications such as anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and yield optimization.

You will assist in building NLP pipelines from SMT/Mechanical data, handle unstructured engineering data, and support automation and digital transformation using AI tools, ML and LLMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, ML or related Engineering field is required.
• Knowledge in Python and libraries like NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch and SQL for data mining and analysis is needed.
• Experience with data analysis, statistical tools (Minitab/JMP), and transitioning to Python-based processing for scalable analytics is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail are essential.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist integrating classical ML with Generative AI for anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, yield optimization.
• Help build NLP pipelines from SMT/Mechanical Assembly data.
• Handle unstructured engineering data like logs, FA reports, and production records for NLP-based automation.
• Support processing automation and digital transformation initiatives with AI tools and knowledge retrieval.
• Develop and maintain prompt engineering strategies; document experiments, designs, and interfaces.
