Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking an experienced Product Development Manager (Fragrance & Scent) to lead end-to-end fragrance concepts from idea to shelf for a fast-growing brand.

You will combine creativity with market insights and commercial thinking, lead the Product Development team, and coordinate with fragrance houses, laboratories and suppliers to ensure successful launches that meet quality, cost and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of relevant experience in product development or product management in fragrance, home fragrance, beauty, personal care, lifestyle, retail, or related consumer-product industries.
• Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product development lifecycle from concept, sampling, costing and testing through to approval, bulk production and product launch.
• Lead and develop the Product Development team, providing strategic direction, coaching and clear priorities while overseeing development timelines, workload and execution.
• Drive fragrance and formulation development in collaboration with fragrance houses, perfumers, laboratories, manufacturers and suppliers, including scent evaluation, formulation refinement and product performance testing.
• Translate market trends and consumer insights into commercially viable products, balancing innovation, quality, fragrance performance, safety, stability, cost, margins and scalability while ensuring relevant regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners across Design, Sourcing, Quality, Brand, Marketing and Merchandising to manage materials, packaging, specifications and development issues, ensuring successful product launches.
