Job summary

Altera, part of the SIPS Team, seeks a Firmware Validation Engineer to validate firmware, software, drivers, and platform functionality for FPGA-based embedded systems across pre- and post-silicon environments.

You will collaborate with firmware, hardware, software, and validation teams to design and execute tests, verify real-world use cases, and strengthen test coverage for reliable product releases.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
3–5 years of experience in software, firmware, embedded systems, platform validation or test development.
Strong understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers/SoCs and firmware concepts.
Experience with Python scripting and basic programming in C/C++.

Responsibilities

Execute validation plans and test cases for firmware, platform and system-level functionality.
Develop and maintain test procedures and test documentation.
Design and implement automated test cases under senior guidance.
Perform functional, regression, integration, stress and negative testing.
Validate Windows and Linux platform functionality and device drivers.
Collect logs and debug information to support issue investigation.
Track defects and verify fixes with cross-functional teams.
