Job summary

Altera seeks a Configuration Applications Engineer in Penang to lead FPGA configuration enablement and product development efforts. You will work on development kits and create training materials, while debugging configuration issues and delivering technical documentation to customers.

The role requires strong English communication, FPGA/RTL expertise, and hands-on hardware debugging, with a focus on fast-learning, independent work in a shift-based on-site setting in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
• Board bring up and systematic debugging skills.
• Analytical with strong problem-solving skills and drive for closure.
• Experience in FPGA/CPLD, RTL, Verilog/VHDL, and C/Python or hardware/board debug.
• Willingness to learn fast-changing technologies and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead application pre-enabling, product development, or product hardening for future products.
• Engage as a technical expert to drive value in configuration enablement.
• Deliver collateral and training on FPGA configuration and programming solutions.
• Debug configuration issues, determine root cause, and drive corrective action.
• Develop and validate design examples on development kits to showcase configuration features.
• Create technical docs such as device handbooks, user guides, tutorials, and application notes.
