Job summary

HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad is seeking an Assistant Manager, First Line Risk and Control to strengthen risk and control processes across International Wealth and Premier Banking. The role emphasizes independent oversight, risk identification, and ensuring controls meet internal standards and regulatory expectations.

The candidate will engage with LoD and control owners, support audit actions, and develop management reports. 3–5 years in risk and control with a finance/business degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, business or related field.
• 3–5 years in risk and control management.
• Good understanding of operational risks and internal controls.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Data analytics capability and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Identify risk and controls; oversee controls and report losses.
• Implement and manage risk and control framework across IWPB and GCOO.
• Maintain internal control standards; respond to audit findings.
• Coordinate cross-function reviews and provide feedback on risk issues.
• Prepare management reports on risk and control capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; liaison across LoD.
• Educate staff on audit requirements and conduct briefings.
