Job summary

WD in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a seasoned leader to head Finished Goods Quality & Packing Operations (FQAP) and ensure timely, quality shipments to HDD operations. The role demands hands-on management of people, process, and quality systems.

You will drive daily operations, inventory disposition, and cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Logistics to meet shipment plans and customer requirements while upholding IMS/RBA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years in manufacturing/operations, with 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in HDD, semiconductor, or high-volume precision manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S.
• Proficiency in production planning systems such as SAP or MES.
• Strong leadership, analytical, cross-functional communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily FQAP operations to achieve HDD shipment commitments safely, accurately, and on time.
• Drive end-to-end on-hold inventory disposition and aging control with timely closures.
• Lead and develop Coordinators, Technicians, and Operators through training and competency management.
• Maintain FQAP compliance with IMS, RBA, and quality standards, drive audits and improvements.
• Interface with partners to ensure quality specifications and resolve packaging issues.
• Represent FQAP in cross-functional meetings and coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Logistics.
