Job summary

Samtec in Malaysia, Penang seeks a quality inspector to support manufacturing operations. The role requires hands-on inspection of BOMs and material dimensions, and input into the quality system. The candidate will follow engineering drawings and QA procedures to maintain high standards.

This position emphasizes documentation, records maintenance, and participation in QA program development to ensure consistent quality across components and assemblies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in an inventory, shipping, receiving, or manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have 20/40 correctable vision and color acuity.
• Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes.

Responsibilities

• Compare product BOM parts lists or material part numbers to ensure completion of component or assembly orders.
• Verify specified dimensions on product of material using inspection equipment.
• Input quality findings into Samtec’s computerized quality system.
• Perform a variety of tasks which require knowledge of inspection techniques, materials, equipment, and Samtec Systems.
• Ensure conformance to established quality specification by working from engineering drawings, sketches, manuals, or prototypes.
• Work in compliance with QA procedures to ensure quality and consistency in inspection criteria.
• Assist in the creation and design of QA procedures and programs to achieve department objectives.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections performed.

• 4. Perform a variety of tasks which require a thorough knowledge of inspection techniques, materials, equipment, as well as Samtec Systems.
• 5. Ensure conformance to established quality specification by working from engineering drawings, sketches, manuals, or prototypes.
• 6. Work in compliance with established quality assurance procedures to ensure quality and consistency in the inspection criteria.
• 7. Assist in the creation and design of quality assurance procedures and programs geared toward achieving the department objectives.
• 8. Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections performed. These serve as an informational and historical source for acceptable quality standards.

Required Experience:

• 1. A minimum of one year in an Inventory, Shipping, Receiving, and/or manufacturing environment.
• 2. Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
• 3. Must have 20/40 correctable vision and color acuity.
• 4. Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes.

Education:

• 1. High school diploma or GED required.
