Job summary

OrgScale Recruitment Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to own the monthly, quarterly and annual close for a fast-growing tech company in Malaysia. You will manage multi-entity consolidations, prepare P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, and deliver clear variance analysis to senior leadership.

Design and maintain internal controls, policies and procedures; oversee audits and manage outsourced partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent professional qualification.
• 6+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a Controller, Financial Controller or senior Accounting Manager role; Big 4 audit background is a plus.
• Hands-on experience running month-end close and consolidation for a multi-entity, multi-currency group.
• Experience managing outsourced partners.
• Working knowledge of cash management, and banking.
• Experience in a fast-growing tech, SaaS, or digital marketing company, and with cloud ERP/accounting systems (e.g. NetSuite, Xero, QuickBooks Online), is a plus.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Job description

Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close of the accounting books - running a fast, repeatable close calendar.

Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and revenue recognition reviews.

Deliver monthly management reporting and variance analysis to leadership.

Design, document and maintain the internal control framework - approval matrices, segregation of duties and payment controls.

Build and enforce finance and accounting policies and procedures; identify control gaps and financial risks, and drive remediation.

Support annual statutory audits and act as the main point of contact for external auditors.

Manage outsourced partners - set clear deliverables, deadlines and quality standards, and review their output.

Advise the Finance Manager / BOD on which activities to keep outsourced and which to bring in-house.

Cover treasury in the early stage - manage forecast and actual cash flow, oversee payment activities, and maintain banking relationships and payment providers.

Qualifications:
