Job summary

IMA Automation Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Bayan Lepas, Penang, seeks a Financial Controller to lead monthly financial statements and quarterly reports for the parent company. You will oversee cash planning, budgeting, and forecasts, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive financial performance metrics.

• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
• Degree in Finance & Accounting; CPA/CMA beneficial.
• 10+ years of accounting/finance experience.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and quarterly reporting package for the parent company.
• Provide monthly/quarterly financial information to the parent company.
• Develop, analyze and interpret statistics to assess profitability and performance vs forecast/budget.
• Manage cash and cash planning in coordination with the parent treasury department.
• Prepare reports on income, expenses and earnings for past, present and future operations; report to parent company monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Coordinate budget and forecasts; maintain planning and control procedures and cost accounting.
• Tax planning and compliance with all applicable taxes at federal/state/local levels.
• Ensure compliance with local laws and corporate accounting policies.
• Evaluate insurance coverage and oversee IT department operations.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Job description

Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements as well as the quarterly reporting package for the attention of the parent company.

Provides the parent company with all the required financial information, particularly on a monthly and quaeterly basis.

Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against forecast and budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the employees.

Manage the company's cash and cash planning in coordination with the treasure department of the parent company.

Establishes major economic objectives and policies for the company and prepare reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present, and future operations. This information is reported to our Italy parent company on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variance.

Responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payrolls, and other applicable taxes.

Ensures the company's compliance with all legal requirements stipulated by the local authorities.

Ensure local accounting compliance with corporate accounting policy.

Evaluates and recommnend insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.

Oversees the Information Technology Dept./ System of the company.

Any tasks/ jobs that may be assigned from time to time.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.

Degree in Finance & Accounting. Qualification in Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations would be added advantages.

10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.

Good writing and communication skills.

Able to work independently as well as being a team-player with strong commitment to department/company harmony.

Must be able to work under pressure and meet the demands of the job.
