Job summary

Flowserve in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is seeking a Financial Analyst to examine financial data and provide insights for business decisions. You will analyze project costing, margins, backlog, and perform monthly reconciliations under US GAAP and local GAAP.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with IFRS/GAAP and SOX. Experience with Oracle/SAP and manufacturing environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in finance or accounting required with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot, vlookup, advanced functions) essential.
• Familiarity with IFRS or US GAAP and SOX regulations.

Responsibilities

• Cost analysis and reporting for project costing and gross margin.
• Review and report net backlog values monthly.
• Monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and P&L per US GAAP/local GAAP.
• Support SOX compliance and statutory accounting activities.
• Assist in preparation of statutory financial statements.

Role Summary: The Financial Analyst examines financial data and uses their findings to help the company to make business decisions. More specifically, the Financial Analysts research macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions along with company fundamentals to make predictions about businesses, sectors, and industries.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Cost Analysis and Reporting: review and analysis of project costing, gross margin analysis, direct charges, inventory evaluation.
• Bookings and Backlog: review and report proper net Backlog values on a monthly basis.
• Monthly reconciliations: balance sheet and P&L in accordance to US GAAP and local GAAP.
• Sox and Audit: maintain Sox compliance with Group Accounting Policies, Statutory Accounting Principles and Legal/Fiscal local regulations.
• Statutory Accounts: support for the Annual Financial Statement preparation

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Extensive Excel 2010 knowledge including advanced functions with Excel required (Pivot tables, Vlook ups, etc)
• Working knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP and SOX regulations
• Experience with structured ERP, Oracle or SAP and consolidated reporting systems.
• Experience in manufacturing industry is highly desirable
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access is valuable
• BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 3-5 years relevant experience
