The Lakehouse Cameron Highlands is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the Finance Division, driving budgeting, forecasting, and governance to achieve profitability and asset protection for the hotel.
You will ensure IFRS/MPERS compliance, coordinate audits, and develop a high-performing finance team while partnering with operations to optimize costs and revenue.
As the Finance Manager, you are responsible for achieving the planned business goals and objectives of The Lakehouse Cameron Highlands through effective leadership, financial management, and strategic direction of the Finance Division, comprising Finance, Purchasing and Administration.
You will provide strong financial leadership and business support to the Hotel, ensuring sound financial governance, effective internal controls, operational efficiency, profitability, asset protection, and compliance with applicable company policies, Malaysian statutory requirements, and accounting standards.
You will lead, coach, and develop employees within your assigned area of responsibility to formulate and execute operational objectives aligned with the Hotel’s four key perspectives: People, Internal Process, Guest, and Revenue.
You are expected to demonstrate a high level of personal efficiency, accountability, professionalism, and commercial awareness while working collaboratively with your team, colleagues, senior management, and other stakeholders to achieve the Hotel’s common goals, financial targets, and operational objectives.
Lead the Finance Division and provide strategic financial guidance to achieve the Hotel’s business objectives, profitability targets, and long-term growth.
Lead and coordinate the annual business plan, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance monitoring.
Ensure accurate, timely, and comprehensive financial reporting, account reconciliation, variance analysis, and management information.
Safeguard the Hotel’s financial interests through effective controls over revenue, expenses, cash, assets, purchasing, and financial processes.
Ensure compliance with Company policies, Malaysian taxation and statutory requirements, IFRS, MPERS, and relevant financial regulations.
Manage and coordinate relationships with internal and external auditors, tax agents, legal advisers, financial institutions, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
Oversee Purchasing and Administration activities to ensure cost effectiveness, proper controls, operational efficiency, and compliance with established procedures.
Partner with operational departments to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve revenue performance, strengthen profit margins, and support sound business decisions.
Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the Finance team; manage performance, training, succession, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
Establish, implement, and continuously improve departmental policies, procedures, systems, and internal controls.
Maximize the use of financial systems and technology to improve efficiency, accuracy, automation, and decision-making.
Balance financial discipline with guest satisfaction, service standards, and value for money while supporting the Hotel’s competitive position.
Ensure appropriate financial and administrative preparedness for emergencies, operational disruptions, and business continuity.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospitality finance, accounting taxation, industry trends, and best practices through continuous professional development and industry networking.
Requirement:-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years of experience in the hospitality or hotel industry.
Strong knowledge of hotel finance, accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, and commercial management.
Good working knowledge of Malaysian taxation, statutory requirements, IFRS, and MPERS.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong analytical, organizational, planning, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Meticulous attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in financial documentation, analysis, and reporting.
