This full-time role offers exposure to key finance functions and cross-functional collaboration within a leading hospitality destination in Kuala Lumpur.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 3–5 years finance experience (hospitality preferred), and 1–2 years in supervision.

Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager to join our Finance team. You will play a key role in overseeing the hotel's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the achievement of the hotel's financial objectives. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your financial expertise, lead key finance functions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the continued success of one of Kuala Lumpur's leading hospitality destinations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare monthly financial reports
• Ensure the timely submission of monthly financial reports within five working days after month-end, in accordance with established standards and procedures.
• Perform and review reconciliations for bank accounts, receivables, and payables.
• Review monthly financial schedules, trial balances, inventory reports, prepaid expenses, deferred charges, and depreciation schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure all purchasing requests and purchase orders comply with the hotel's procurement policies and procedures.
• Monitor the timely payment of taxes, statutory contributions, and business licenses.
• Supervise the preparation and maintenance of fixed asset and inventory records.
• Maintain proper custody of accounting records and financial documentation.
• Review invoices for payment, ensuring appropriate approvals, supporting documents, and General Ledger coding.
• Review the General Ledger to ensure accuracy before month-end closing.
• Assist in coordinating external audits and liaise with tax agents when required.
• Monitor daily cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet the hotel's financial obligations.
• Collaborate with the Executive Sous Chef and Food & Beverage team to monitor food and beverage costs, outlet recipes, and portion controls for effective cost management.
• Oversee the Accounts Payable, General Cashier, and Cost Control functions to ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate the performance of team members within the assigned sections.
• Support continuous process improvements and carry out additional duties as assigned by Management.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualifications are an added advantage.

Minimum 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in the hospitality industry, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial role.

Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliation, and internal controls.

Good understanding of Malaysian taxation, statutory compliance, and financial reporting standards.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, coach, and motivate a finance team.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders.
