The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the Finance and Administration functions for the Malaysia operation. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, effective internal controls and efficient business support services. The role also ensures that administration practices are aligned with company policies, and internal governance standards. The position supports Management through financial analysis, workforce planning, risk management, compliance oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives.
A. Finance, Reporting & Business Planning
- Lead monthly and annual financial closing, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Review Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, cash flow, bank reconciliations, AR/AP balances, and supporting schedules.
- Provide business insights on profitability, cost control, working capital, and financial performance.
- Ensure accurate accounting records and timely management reporting to support decision-making.
B. Cash Management, Banking, Taxation & Audit Compliance
- Manage cash flow, banking facilities, fund transfers, fixed deposits, foreign exchange matters, and other cash management activities.
- Oversee taxation, SST, e-invoicing, statutory submissions, annual audit, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, Company Secretary, and relevant authorities.
- Review audit findings, tax matters, and compliance risks, and follow through on corrective actions.
C. Internal Controls, Systems & Process Improvement
- Establish and maintain finance policies, approval controls, documentation standards, and risk management practices.
- Oversee Auto Count or related finance systems, reporting templates, and finance data accuracy.
- Drive process improvement, automation, digitalization, and stronger internal controls across Finance, HR, and Administration.
- Ensure records are properly maintained, confidential, and audit ready.
D. Administration & Business Support
- Oversee office administration, licenses, insurance renewals, tenancy matters, corporate records, and administrative controls.
- Support business continuity, compliance reviews, management projects, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop Finance and Administration team members where applicable.
- Perform other duties or projects assigned by Management.
What we're looking for
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA) or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably in the food and beverage industry
- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficient in using financial management software and data analysis tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel is a must
- Effective communication and leadership skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skill, independent team player with good initiative
