Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Malaysia is seeking a Finance Manager to lead all accounting, financial and tax functions and act as a proactive finance partner. You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, pricing for tenders, statutory compliance, and AP/AR operations while driving system improvements.

The role requires 5–7 years in finance with 2–3 years in management, a relevant degree, and professional certifications. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in finance, accounting, or a related field with 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field.
• Master's degree in finance, accounting or MBA is an advantage.
• CPA or CFA preferred; CMA/CFM also noted.
• Proficient in financial software and systems and strong Excel skills.
• Familiar with financial modelling and forecasting techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication.
• Leadership and team management capabilities; travel as needed.
• Independent, decisive, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage full sets of accounts, daily finance operations, reconciliations, month-end closing and management reporting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and tenders pricing (CIP) for new opportunities.
• Ensure statutory compliance, tax reporting, audits, and quarterly updates for BOD.
• Oversee AP/AR functions and ensure contractual terms and SGHA rates compliance.
• Support finance system implementation and process improvements; handle ad-hoc tasks.

Role Purpose

The Finance Manager is responsible for all Accounting, Financial and Tax functions and being a pro-active finance business partner.

What You Will Be Doing

• Manage full sets of accounts, daily financial operations, reconciliations, month-end closing, financial statements, and management reporting, including weekly flash reports and regional reporting requirements.
• Oversee annual budgeting, financial forecasting, performance analysis, and internal pricing calculations (CIP) for tenders, new business opportunities, contract renewals, and pricing revisions.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, including tax reporting, audit coordination, liaison with relevant stakeholders, and preparation of quarterly business updates and financial reports for BOD meetings.
• Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, ensuring accurate billing and payments in accordance with contractual terms and agreed SGHA rates.
• Support accounting system implementation, financial process improvements, and other ad-hoc responsibilities assigned by Management.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field. At least 2-3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Having master's degree in finance, Accounting, or MBA is and advantages.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred.
• Other relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Financial Manager (CFM)).
• Proficient in financial software and systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with financial modelling and forecasting techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong senior management, leadership skills with key focus on staff development.
• Ability to travel as needed. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to present and influence at all levels.
