A financial services firm in George Town, Malaysia is seeking an experienced accountant to manage the full set of accounts for two entities. The ideal candidate will prepare financial statements, handle tax matters, and liaise with auditors while providing key financial insights. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and be fluent in Mandarin. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel is required to improve processes and ensure compliance.
Manage the full set of accounts (AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, cash flow) for two entities.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable standards.
Handle tax-related matters, including SST, corporate tax, PCB, , and ensure all statutory submissions are completed on time.
Maintain proper accounting records, schedules, and documentation to support audits and tax filings.
Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and company secretary to ensure smooth year-end closing and compliance.
Prepare management reports and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
Assist in improving accounting processes, internal controls, and financial systems for greater efficiency.
Manage CEO’s personal tax matters, including tax filing, liaising with tax agents, and ensuring compliance with LHDN regulations.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA are an added advantage).
Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience handling full set of accounts.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian taxation (corporate tax, SST, and personal income tax).
Experience handling accounts for multiple entities is preferred.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SQL, Autocount, or equivalent) and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
Detail‑oriented, highly organized, and able to meet tight reporting deadlines.
Mandarin speaker required as the role involves regular communication with counterparts in China.
Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with external and internal stakeholders.
High level of integrity and confidentiality, especially in handling personal tax matters of management.
