Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, reporting, accounting activities and financial controls from Penang, Malaysia. The role requires strong finance leadership with mandatory audit experience and a solid understanding of financial reporting and internal controls.

The ideal candidate will manage accounting functions, coordinate audits, ensure regulatory compliance and provide insightful financial analysis to support management decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• ACCA, CPA, MIA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Audit experience is mandatory.
• Experience handling external and/or internal audits.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports and financial analysis.
• Monitor budgets, cash flow, expenses and financial performance.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and liaise with auditors and tax advisors.

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, reporting, accounting activities and financial controls for our organization in Penang, Malaysia.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in financial management and accounting, with mandatory audit experience and a solid understanding of financial reporting, compliance and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports and financial analysis.
• Monitor company budgets, cash flow, expenses and financial performance.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and reconciliation activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Lead the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks and other financial stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements and statutory regulations.
• Establish and maintain strong financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate controls and improvements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Analyze financial results and provide insights to management for business decision-making.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and investigate significant variances.
• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of financial records.
• Support tax-related matters and statutory submissions.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, MIA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Relevant experience in a Finance Manager / Senior Finance / Accounting Manager role.
• Strong experience in financial accounting, reporting and management accounting.
• Audit experience is mandatory.
• Experience handling external and/or internal audits.
• Strong knowledge of financial controls, accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy and integrity.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is an advantage.
