Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Finance Data Analyst in Kuala Lumpur to transform finance requirements into scalable data models and robust Power BI dashboards. You will analyze P&L trends, support budgeting and forecasting, and deliver data-driven insights to drive smarter decisions.

The role requires advanced Power BI skills (DAX, data modeling) and strong SQL proficiency to ensure data quality, reporting consistency, and KPI alignment across Finance and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field.
• Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow).
• Experience in Financial Analytics, Business Intelligence, FP&A, or related functions.
• Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX and data modeling (Star Schema).
• Strong SQL proficiency and ability to write complex queries.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Transform finance and business requirements into scalable data models and intuitive Power BI dashboards.
• Analyze financial and operational performance, including P&L trends, cost drivers, margins, and working capital.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis through data-driven insights.
• Develop and maintain Power BI datasets, data models, and DAX measures.

• Partner with Finance and business teams to identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements.
• Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives across BI, AI, and RPA solutions.
• Promote self-service analytics and enable stakeholders to make informed decisions independently.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Finance Data Analyst should have:
