Job summary

ShopBack Group in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager in Finance Controllership to oversee month-end closing, review management accounts and pack within deadlines.

The role requires bridging local GAAP with IFRS, driving accurate reporting of balance sheet, P&L and cash flow, and partnering with treasury, group reporting and SSC to ensure smooth processes. Also lead statutory audits and tax compliance; mentor direct reports.

Qualifications

• Experience in month-end closing and financial reporting.
• Ability to bridge local GAAP with IFRS.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the month end closing process by reviewing the assigned entities' management accounts and reporting pack within agreed timelines.
• Drive timely and accurate month-end closing and reporting processes including flux analysis on the balance sheet, P&L and cashflow.
• Provide insights and commentaries on MoM and actuals vs budgets; ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed.
• Bridge between local GAAP and IFRS.
• Monitor cash flow and ensure funds for operations.
• Partner with treasury, group reporting and SSC team to ensure smooth reporting.
• Business partnering with regional FP&A and commercial teams to identify trends and explain drivers.
• Provide analysis to country GMs on actuals vs budget and delve into variances.
• Support cross-functional teams for new country/product launches from accounting/tax perspective.
• Lead statutory audits and tax compliance.
• Liaise with tax advisors to ensure tax compliance.
• Direct reports management and mentorship; assist ad hoc tasks.
