Job summary

Agilent Technologies in Penang, Bayan Lepas is seeking a Finance Analyst who can bridge accounting and tax processes to own statutory reporting and co-ordinate audits for assigned entities. You will ensure alignment with audited statements while supporting local tax compliance, including corporate income tax and withholding tax, across cross-functional teams.

Required is a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance with a professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CA/MIA preferred) and 4+ years of statutory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA/ACCA/CA/MIA strongly preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in statutory reporting, audit, or financial compliance, preferably with Big 4 audit experience.
• Practical exposure to local tax compliance, including corporate income tax and withholding tax.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and the linkage between statutory accounts and tax computations.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple compliance deadlines, and take ownership of assigned legal entities.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and advanced Excel capability.
• Experience in an MNC environment and familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory financial statements for assigned entities in accordance with US GAAP, local GAAP, and statutory requirements.
• Own end-to-end statutory audit coordination for assigned entities, including planning, preparation of supporting schedules, auditor queries, and timely close-out.
• Support defined local tax compliance activities for assigned entities, including inputs for corporate income tax, withholding tax, and stamp duty.
• Prepare and reconcile tax-related schedules that support statutory audits, tax computations, and year-end filings.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors on return preparation, revised estimates, tax authority queries, and tax audit support.
• Work with Finance, Tax, Legal, Treasury, and shared service teams to resolve cross-functional issues affecting statutory reporting or tax compliance.
• Identify gaps, handoff risks, or control weaknesses across the statutory and tax compliance process, and recommend improvements.
• Maintain clear documentation and support packages for statutory and tax deliverables to ensure audit defensibility.
