Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Finance & Accounting Leader to oversee month-end and year-end close, prepare financial statements, and drive management reporting in compliance with MPERS for the Malaysian market. The role requires a strong background in manufacturing accounting, taxation, audits, and internal control improvements.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in accounting, a degree in Accounting/Finance, professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent), and hands-on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related discipline required.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent is advantageous.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant working experience in accounting/finance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management accounts and reports in MPERS.
• Review GL, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions and reconciliations.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury activities, banking matters, fund planning and controls.
• Support annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitor variances.
• Prepare financial analysis and management reports for decision-making.
• Review manufacturing costing, inventory accounting and variances, coordinate with departments.
• Oversee Malaysian taxation matters including corporate income tax, deferred tax and withholding tax.
• Lead annual external audits and resolve audit queries.
• Oversee Accounts Payable/Receivable, GL and intercompany transactions.
• Ensure internal controls and compliance with policies and statutory requirements.
• Supervise Accounts & Finance team and provide guidance.
• Identify improvements to accounting processes and system utilization.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax agents, banks and other parties.
