Job summary

Veolia Water Technologies is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Malaysia to support petrochemical and oil & gas accounts with water treatment systems. You will perform water analyses, monitor cooling, boiler and RO membranes, and provide on-site troubleshooting while maintaining strong customer relations.

Based in Bintulu, you will travel to client sites, ensure timely service, and contribute to continuous improvement of process solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or applied chemistry.
• 3–5 years of experience in water treatment, especially in petrochemical or oil & gas.
• Experience with cooling, boiler, RO membrane and wastewater monitoring and chemical application.
• Own transport and a valid driver’s license.
• Based in Bintulu.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Veolia Water Tech reputation at the customer level.
• Ensure that all assigned accounts are serviced at the prescribed frequency; conduct water analysis and troubleshooting.
• Maintain a high standard of service and customer satisfaction to prevent complaints.
• Interface with key customers for Veolia products and total support.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding orders, acknowledgments, amendments and alterations.
• Support the commercial team in sales activities.
• Develop product and system knowledge; perform preventive troubleshooting and provide technically correct recommendations.
• Build communication and organizational skills; coordinate with Area/Account Manager on needs.
• Maintain chemical inventories to prevent outages at customer sites.

Job Description

• To ensure a good Veolia Water Tech reputation at the customer level.
• To ensure that all assigned accounts are serviced at the prescribed frequency. Services work includes conducting water analysis, ensuring chemical injection systems are in good conditions, providing troubleshooting support and other field-related services assigned to the field representative.
• To maintain a high standard of service and customer satisfaction so that no customer complaints originate because of poor quality service.
• Interface primarily with assigned key customers for all matters concerning Veolia products and services and total support. Ensuring that both customer and Veolia objectives are met.
• Respond to all customer inquires in a timely manner on the processing of customer orders, acknowledgements, Purchase Order amendments, and alteration notification.
• To support commercial team in sales activities
• To develop product application knowledge and system knowledge. To ensure that preventive troubleshooting is adequately performed in all accounts and that only technically correct recommendations are made to clients.
• To acquire necessary communication and organizational skills. To maintain effective communication with the Area or Account Manager so that they are continually aware of all personal, business and training requirements.
• To maintain all chemical inventories up to date so that product outage does not occur at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in chemical engineering or applied chemistry. Any water treatment or water chemistry working experience will be an added advantage.
• At least 3 - 5 years of working experience in the water treatment industries especially at petrochemical plant or oil & gas related industry
• Has experience in cooling, boiler, RO membrane and wastewater treatment monitoring and chemical application
• Possess an own transport (car) and a valid driver’s Licenses and acceptable motor vehicle record.
• To be based in Bintulu
