Job summary

Embun Design Studio is seeking a Registered Safety Officer to lead site safety efforts on our on-site construction projects in Malaysia. The role demands a valid Yellow Book and registration with DOSH/NIOSH/JKKP, plus at least two years of construction site experience.

You will develop and enforce safety plans, conduct inspections, and coordinate with subcontractors and authorities to ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA and safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Valid Yellow Book and registration with DOSH/NIOSH/JKKP.
• Minimum 2 years of construction site experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1994, FMA and construction safety practices.
• Familiar with HIRARC, JSA, PTW and safety documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site safety by implementing safety plans and inspections.
• Prepare safety plans for construction projects.
• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance.
• Create weekly safety inspection and status reports.
• Lead toolbox meetings with subcontractors and workers to promote safety awareness.
• Inspect equipment, PPE, fire-fighting gear and first-aid kits on-site.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to verify safety procedures.
• Liaise with authorities to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Rectify unsafe practices on-site and maintain a safe working environment.
• Record and report accidents, incidents and near misses; investigate and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and site cleanliness; monitor high-risk activities.
• Issue safety notices and stop-work instructions when required.

• Rectify unsafe practices: Identify and rectify any unsafe practices on-site to maintain a safe working environment.
