Job summary

Quectel, a global IoT solutions provider, seeks an embedded product support engineer in Penang/Bayan Lepas. You will assist across 5G to GSM wireless modules, deliver on-site trainings, and help customers integrate Quectel solutions with demonstrators.

Strong C/C++, Linux, and Android knowledge are essential, with hands-on driver and debug experience. The role requires collaboration in multicultural teams, travel for local market support, and proactive problem solving to ensure high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Computer, Automation, Electronics & Communications, or IT-related fields.
• 3 years or more experience in embedded product design or Firmware development in electronics.
• Good knowledge of GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/LTE/TCP/IP/GPS specification/standards.
• Good knowledge of C/C++, Linux, and Android specifications/standards is a plus.
• Experience in development of peripheral drivers and debugging (USB, UART, I2C, I2S, SPI, SDIO, EMMC, PWM, Camera, LCD) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for multicultural customer environments.
• Self-motivation, independence with teamwork, and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Quectel’s entire product line across 5G to GSM/GPRS technologies.
• Provide Pre-Sales and Post-Sales technical support and customer training on Quectel modules and tools.
• Reply swiftly to customer technical inquiries and travel for on-site support as needed.
• Deliver product presentations and on-site training for customers.
• Provide feedback and feasible Quectel solutions based on customer requirements.
• Develop simple demonstration applications to help customers evaluate Quectel modules.
• Prepare Weekly Technical Reports on support activity and issue progress.
• Familiar with embedded Linux/Android or other OSs and module certifications.

Role Description

• Provide technical support for Quectel's entire product line, including 5G, LTE/LTE-A, UMTS/HSPA, GSM/GPRS, and other wireless technologies.
• Provide Pre-Sales and Post-Sales technical support and customer training on Quectel wireless modules and development tools.
• Provide swift responses to customer technical inquiries, being prepared to travel for on-site support across local market.
• Be able to give product presentations and conduct product and tool training for customers on-site.
• Provide tangible feedback and feasible Quectel solutions to customers, based on their application requirements.
• Develop simple demonstration applications to help customers evaluate and integrate Quectel modules quicker and more effectively.
• Prepare Weekly Technical Reports indicating the support activity and open issue progress.
• Experienced in embedded Linux, Android systems, or other OSs.
• Experienced in 2G, 3G, NBIoT, CatM, LTE RF/Antenna design, tuning, or testing.
• Experienced in module certificates, e.g. RCM or carrier’s approval process.
• Familiar with LTE/UMTS/HSPA/GSM/GPRS/GPS Wireless M2M Modules.
• Proficient C/C++, Perl, Python, and Shell programming Skills.
• Knowledge of Wireless networks, mobile phone or wireless modem technologies including Bluetooth, WIFI, Zigbee, etc.
• Familiar with ARM microcontrollers architecture.
