Job summary

Renesas Electronics is seeking a layout design engineer to design and implement efficient layouts for manufacturing facilities in Penang. You will create detailed plans for placement of machines, storage areas, jigs, pathways, and other facility components within a factory floor.

You will optimize material flow, enhance storage utilization, minimize waste, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while coordinating with Production, Maintenance, QC, and Facilities teams to communicate changes

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Strong AutoCAD skills to develop, modify and maintain layouts.
• Ability to read and interpret layout drawings.
• Fresh graduates encouraged; relevant experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed plans and designs for placement of machines, storage areas, jigs, pathways, and other facility components within a factory or production floor.
• Optimize the flow of materials and products, improve storage utilization, minimize waste, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Perform onsite assessments with Facilities and machine owners to validate layout feasibility and reflect operational conditions.
• Lead and coordinate with Production, Maintenance, QC, and Facilities to communicate layout changes and ensure smooth implementation.
