Job summary

MATRIX EDUCARE SDN BHD is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead Facility & Operation teams across maintenance, HVAC, security, cleaning and related services in Seremban.

You will plan, monitor, coordinate preventive and corrective work, manage vendors and service providers, supervise staff, ensure safety, compliance and ready classrooms and facilities for use, while driving cost control and efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, Property Management, Operations, Business Management or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant facilities or building-operations experience, including 2 years coordinating staff, contractors or service providers.
• Practical knowledge of M&E systems, building maintenance, safety, compliance, cleaning, security and vendor management.
• Able to manage work orders, inspections, maintenance schedules, quotations, budgets and operational records.
• Good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Able to respond to urgent incidents and work outside normal hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor daily work across maintenance, air-conditioning, helpdesk, cleaning, landscape, events and security support teams.
• Track service requests, assign priorities, follow up overdue work and ensure proper closure evidence.
• Coordinate preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical systems, generators, lifts, plumbing, fire protection, LPG and building assets.
• Maintain asset records, maintenance schedules, statutory certificates, service reports and defect trackers.
• Conduct inspections and ensure classrooms, boarding facilities, sports areas and event venues are safe and ready for use.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors, monitor SLA/KPI performance, verify completed work and follow up on defects.
• Support quotations, purchasing, invoice verification, OPEX/CAPEX monitoring and cost-saving initiatives.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, fire drills, incident response, access control, CCTV and business continuity.
• Supervise and coach coordinators, executives, technicians, handymen, cleaners and security personnel.
• Prepare concise operational reports and deputise for the Senior Manager when authorised.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by Management.
