Job summary

SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Bhd in Penang is seeking a Facilities Manager for semiconductor/electronics manufacturing. You will lead the facilities team to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient buildings, equipment, and services.

You will oversee M&E systems, plant maintenance, cleaning, landscaping, and canteen operations, manage external contractors, plan preventive maintenance, monitor budgets, and contribute to EHS policy improvements.

Qualifications

• Ter tiary qualification in a technical or engineering-related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing.
• Chargeman certification by the Malaysia Energy Commission is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and results-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with strong computer literacy.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with cross-functional collaboration ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Facilities team to ensure safe, functional, and compliant buildings and surrounds.
• Oversee building services, M&E systems, plant and equipment maintenance, cleaning, landscaping, and canteen operations.
• Manage external contractors and service providers, including tendering, contract negotiation, and compliance inspections.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs for all facilities and equipment.
• Monitor budgets and drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining efficiency and quality.
• Participate in the EHS committee to enhance health, safety, and environmental policies.
