Job summary

Gabungan AQRS Berhad seeks a Facilities Engineer to lead maintenance across building systems, ensuring reliability and safety. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, energy efficiency, and thorough documentation to support operations and compliance.

The ideal candidate holds an FM certification and an engineering degree, with hands-on experience in managing multiple facility systems in industrial or commercial environments.

Qualifications

• FMM Certification or equivalent professional FM certification.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent practical FM experience.
• Proven facilities maintenance experience in building systems management and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend asset lifespan.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Monitor and manage utility consumption, identifying opportunities for energy efficiency and cost reduction.
• Maintain comprehensive maintenance records and documentation for all facility systems and equipment.
• Ensure all facilities operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialised maintenance and repair services.
• Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
• Prepare detailed reports on facility conditions, maintenance activities, and recommended improvements.
• Support facilities management initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

What we are looking for

FMM Certification: Current Certified Facilities Management Malaysia (FMM) qualification or equivalent professional facilities management certification

Technical qualifications: Diploma or degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Building Services), or equivalent practical experience in facilities maintenance

Maintenance expertise: Proven experience in facilities maintenance, building systems management, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, ideally within industrial, commercial, or institutional environments

Safety knowledge: Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations relevant to facilities operations

Technical skills: Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and system schematics; familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) is advantageous

Problem-solving abilities: Strong diagnostic and analytical skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions efficiently

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to liaise effectively with staff, contractors, and management

Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to maintaining records, safety compliance, and quality standards

Preferred experience: Background in managing multiple facility systems, experience with preventative maintenance programmes, or exposure to energy management initiatives
