Job summary

Flex is seeking a Facilities Engineer for our Prai, Penang location. This role applies engineering principles to design, modify and develop facilities, testing equipment, and processes used in manufacturing products.

A typical day includes evaluating facility specs, analyzing proposals, defining feasible designs within cost and space constraints, and guiding project teams to successful outcomes. A bachelor’s degree in engineering and 4–6 years of related experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research facility products or equipment specifications to define designs suitable for existing facilities.
• Research engineering proposals and technical data for plant machinery and equipment design.

• Provide technical facilities information on materials, properties and process advantages.
• Compile data to establish performance standards for equipment.
• Study engineering publications to keep abreast of industry developments.
• Use computer aided design software to perform engineering tasks.
• Guide projects and project teams.

Facilities Engineer located in Prai, Penang

Applies engineering values to design, modify or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes used in processing or manufacturing products.

What a typical day looks like

• Research facility products or equipment specifications and performance requirements to define designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
• Research engineering proposals, process requirements and related technical data pertaining to industrial facility machinery and equipment design.
• Defines feasibility of designing new plant facilities equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning and other technical and economic factors.
• Provides technical facilities information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.
• Compiles and research facilities research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
• Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technical changes and developments in industry.
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Guides projects and project teams.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience and training.
• Typically requires a minimum of 4 - 6 years of related experience.
