Job summary

Flex in Prai, Penang, Malaysia, seeks an Operations Engineering Senior Manager to lead engineering teams, drive strategic plans, and manage budgets in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

You will interact with executives, customers, and regulators, shaping engineering strategies to meet customer requirements and expand Flex capabilities in manufacturing and services. This role foregrounds leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master’s/MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of engineering experience with broad management.

Responsibilities

• Review customer contracts and engineering designs, outlining requirements.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Operations Engineering Senior Manager located in Prai, Penang.

What a typical day looks like:

• Participates in the review of customer contracts and engineering designs by outlining requirements and considerations.
• Assists product support areas in gathering and analyzing data.
• Participates with other senior managers in establishing corporate strategic plans and objectives.
• Directs the activities of engineers and staff and is responsible for planning, budgeting, and maintaining costs for a broad functional area.
• Interacts regularly with executives, customers and outside regulatory agencies.
• Drives engineering strategies to deliver customer requirements and recommend Flex capabilities in manufacturing and engineering services.
• Provides technical supplier management as related to product development and integration.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training. A Master's or MBA degree is preferred
• Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, including broad based management and supervision.
• Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
• Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
