Job summary

KPJ Centre for Sight, KL is seeking a State Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing eye surgery. You will perform scrub and circulator duties during peri-operative phases and ensure accurate pre‑op preparation and consent verification.

You will maintain sterile technique, prepare the OT and equipment, liaise with ophthalmologists, and document operative records while upholding patient safety and continuous professional development.

Qualifications

• Registered with Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Post Basic qualification in a related field (depends on the services availability at KPJ Eyecare specialist Centre).
• Diploma / Bachelor of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, safe, and high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing eye surgery.
• Undertakes the role and function of the Scrub nurse and Circulator during peri-operative phase.
• Receive and check patient pre-operatively and verify the correct patient, identity operative site and valid consent form.
• Facilitate secure patient transfers into the operating theatre, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
• Perform aseptic surgical handwashing, gowning, gloving, and assist with draping.
• Circulate and scrub for surgical procedures including passes instruments in a professional manner while maintaining sterile techniques.
