Job summary

HEINEKEN Malaysia seeks an Assistant Manager – External Affairs to build and maintain excellent relations with Federal, State and local government stakeholders to safeguard the company’s licence to operate.

You will monitor policy developments, provide timely insights on risks and opportunities, and support advocacy strategies, position papers and stakeholder communications to advance HEINEKEN Malaysia’s interests on regulatory and fiscal matters.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Law, Public Policy, Business or related field.
• Postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
• More than 5 years of government relations experience.
• Strong understanding of government relations and policy.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with Federal, State and local government authorities.
• Support government meetings and stakeholder outreach with records.
• Monitor policy, regulatory, legislative and fiscal developments related to HEINEKEN Malaysia.
• Assess impact and risks; provide updates to External Affairs Manager.
• Conduct research and analysis on key policy issues.
• Support development of position papers, submissions and briefing notes.
• Coordinate inputs from internal functions for advocacy materials.
• Oversee applications for government or regulatory approvals.
• Track progress with authorities to ensure timely approvals.
• Maintain a database of stakeholders, engagements and developments.
• Prepare regular reports to support External Affairs strategy.
