Job summary

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd in Sungai Buloh, Malaysia is seeking a QA/Testing professional with 1–2+ years in automotive testing, validation or quality assurance. You will plan, execute and document tests on motorcycle components, analyse results, and contribute to homologation and regulatory compliance.

Fresh graduates with strong motorcycle interest are welcome. You will collaborate with design, project management, and QA teams, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• 1–2+ years of experience in automotive testing, validation, or quality assurance.
• Hands-on experience with automotive systems especially for motorcycle.
• Fresh graduates with strong interest in motorcycles welcome to apply.
• Knowledge of automotive components & systems, especially motorcycles.
• Knowledge of vehicle regulations related to motorcycles.
• Proficiency in testing tools and software for noise and brake testing.
• Able to handle hand tools and measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings for assembly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills considering quality, cost & delivery.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to optimise contributions.
• High initiative on process improvement and customer focus for stakeholders.
• Possess driving license at least B2 & D; good riding track record.

Responsibilities

• Study and understand regulation requirements and content for MYS vehicle regulations.
• Develop and implement homologation plans with development country for local activity.
• Prepare and submit homologation documents to JPJ, DOE, MARii, etc.
• Plan and execute functional, performance, durability, and environmental tests.
• Coordinate resources to ensure progress and timely completion.
• Oversee collection, interpretation, and documentation of test data.
• Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Prepare detailed test reports with findings and corrective actions.
• Present results to stakeholders and collaborate on system improvements.
• Collaborate with design, project management, and QA teams for integration.
• Provide technical support throughout product development including root-cause analysis.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment; identify and procure new tools.

Job description

Study & understand regulation requirement & content about MYS vehicle regulations from related authoritiy (MOT, JPJ, DOE, MARii, MITI etc)

Develop and implement comprehensive homologation plan with development country for local activity

Make & prepare homologation documents for subsmission to related Approval Authority (JPJ, DOE, MARii etc)

Test Planning and Execution:

Conduct functional, performance, durability, and environmental testing on vehicle components and systems as per internal test protocol requirements.

Resources coordination with team members to ensure job’s progress & completion as targeted plan.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Oversee the collection, interpretation, and documentation of test data.

Analyse test data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.

Prepare detailed test reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.

Present test results to stakeholders and collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve issues & system improvement.

Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with design, project management, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration.

Provide technical support during the product development lifecycle, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Testing Equipment and Tools:

Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Identify and procure new testing tools and technologies to enhance testing capabilities align with headquarters requirement.

Any other assignment/task given Management from time to time to support on operation such as 5S activity, safety, kaizen, etc.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

1~2+ years of experience in automotive testing, validation, or quality assurance.

Hands-on experience with automotive systems especially for motorcycle.

Fresh graduate which has strong interest on motorcycle are welcome to apply too.

Possess good knowledge on automotive component & system technology especially related with motorcycle

Possess good knowledge on vehicle regulation especially related with motorcycle.

Proficiency in testing tools and software especially related with noise & brake test activity.

Proficient in handling hand tools (manual & power tool) & measuring instruments (vernier calliper, micrometer etc)

Proficient to read & interpret engineering drawing for assembly purpose.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills considering quality, cost & delivery aspect.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to optimise contribution & outcomes.

High initiative on process improvement and customer focused to meet the needs of internal/external stakeholders.

Posses valid driving license at least B2 & D class & good track record on riding experienced.
