Job summary

SEGi College Penang in Malaysia is recruiting an Executive, Operations, Facilities & Maintenance to oversee the upkeep of college buildings, systems and surrounding areas. You will manage preventive maintenance, inspections, installations and repairs, focusing on electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks within your competency.

The role requires a valid electrical competency certificate and a minimum of two years in facilities maintenance, with strong safety awareness and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM qualification or equivalent.
• Preferably with a relevant technical certificate in electrical engineering, building maintenance or related field.
• A valid electrical competency certificate is mandatory.
• Able to independently diagnose electrical faults and repair systems within the scope of competency and authorisation.
• Hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical wiring and maintenance, building maintenance systems, carpentry and general repairs.
• Possess a valid CDL (Class D) driving licence.
• Minimum two years of facilities and maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of OSH requirements and safe working practices.
• Able to prioritise tasks and maintain accurate maintenance records with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Oversee upkeep of college buildings and surrounding areas.
• Diagnose electrical faults, troubleshoot breakdowns and perform repairs within electrical competency and authorisation.
• Carry out plumbing, carpentry and general repairs to facilities and equipment within competency.
• Maintain maintenance checklists, inspection records and inventories of tools, spare parts and consumables.
• Support renovation, upgrading and improvement projects by coordinating contractors and monitoring work quality and completion.
• Coordinate outsourced cleaning and security services and monitor vendor performance.
• Identify workplace hazards and support OSH practices.
• Coordinate annual emergency evacuation drills and support emergency preparedness and incident reporting.
• Respond to urgent breakdowns and emergencies outside normal working hours when required.

About you

Able to independently diagnose electrical faults, troubleshoot breakdowns and repair systems and equipment within the scope of competency and authorisation

Hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical wiring and maintenance, building maintenance systems, carpentry and general repairs

Possess a valid Competent Driving Licence (CDL), Class D

Minimum two years of experience in facilities and maintenance

Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements and safe working practices

Able to prioritise tasks, maintain accurate maintenance records and work independently with minimal supervision

Good communication and coordination skills when working with colleagues, contractors and service providers
