Bayu Somerset SDN BHD is seeking a creative Interior Design Executive to lead design concepts for our retail and office spaces in Shah Alam. The role focuses on space planning, concept development, and ensuring projects align with brand identity, budget and timeline.

You will manage renovation and fit-out works, coordinate with contractors, prepare drawings and presentations, and help maintain design standards across outlets.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in interior design or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant interior design, renovation or project coordination experience.
• Experience in retail interior design or shop fitting is a plus.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, and Adobe Photoshop.

Responsabilidades

• Develop creative interior design concepts, layouts and space-planning proposals for retail outlets, office spaces and other Company premises.
• Coordinate renovation, refurbishment and outlet fit-out projects, liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion within budget.
• Prepare project cost estimates, renovation budgets and material schedules; maintain records and documentation.
• Ensure consistent interior design standards across all Bayu Somerset outlets and support office development projects.

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented and experienced Interior Design Executive to oversee interior design projects, particularly for retail outlets and office spaces. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing design concepts, coordinating renovation and fit-out works, managing contractors, and ensuring all projects are completed according to the Company's design standards, budget and timeline.

Key Responsibilities / Job Scope

1. Interior Design & Space Planning

Develop creative interior design concepts, layouts and space-planning proposals for retail outlets, office spaces and other Company premises.

Prepare 2D layouts, 3D visualisations, mood boards and design presentations.

Ensure designs align with the Company's brand identity, functionality and aesthetic standards.

Recommend suitable materials, furniture, fixtures, lighting and finishes.

2. Project Management & Coordination

Manage interior design and renovation projects from concept development to completion.

Coordinate renovation, refurbishment and outlet fit-out projects.

Monitor project progress to ensure timely completion within the approved budget.

Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor work quality and progress.

Identify and resolve design or site-related issues.

Liaise and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants and relevant stakeholders.

Obtain and review quotations, material samples and project proposals.

Monitor contractors' work to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

Negotiate with vendors and contractors to achieve cost-effective solutions.

4. Budget & Documentation

Prepare project cost estimates, renovation budgets and material schedules.

Monitor project expenses and ensure spending remains within the approved budget.

Prepare technical drawings, layout plans, project reports and renovation documentation.

Maintain proper records of drawings, quotations, project timelines and site progress.

5. Retail Outlet & Office Development

Support new retail outlet openings, pop-up stores and existing outlet renovations.

Ensure consistent interior design standards across all Company outlets.

Coordinate office layout planning, renovation and workspace improvements.

Work closely with the Retail, Operations and Management teams to understand project requirements.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in interior design, renovation or project coordination.

Experience in retail interior design, commercial spaces or shop fitting will be an added advantage.

Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Adobe Photoshop or equivalent.

Able to interpret technical drawings, floor plans and construction details.

Good project management, communication and coordination skills.

Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Willing to travel for site visits, outlet inspections and project coordination.

Possess own transport and a valid driving licence.
