Job summary

SD Guthrie International is seeking a competent accounting professional to manage the full set of accounts for the group, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will prepare financial statements, perform month-end close, analyse variances, and support budgeting and forecasting with insights.

The role requires a degree in accountancy with professional qualification; SAP knowledge is advantageous. Fresh graduates or those with up to 2 years in financial accounting and/or audit are

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy and Professional Accountancy Qualification.
• Fresh graduate or 2 years preferably in financial accounting and/or audit.
• SAP knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the full set of accounts for the company.
• Maintain detailed accounts including estates and mills.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Monitor and control expenses, analysing variances and identifying areas for improvement.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision making.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and support cross-functional initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies, liaising with auditors and regulatory authorities as required.
• Implement and maintain accounting systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
• Recommending and implementing changes as needed to ensure compliance and improve efficiency.

• Manage and oversee the full set of accounts for the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in financial reporting.


• Ensure that the detailed accounts (including those at the estates and mills) are properly maintained in accordance with Group Procedures and Authorities (GPA), Plantations Division's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), applicable accounting standards issued by the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) and other generally accepted accounting practices.


• Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
