Job summary

• Experience in hospitality, tourism or travel industry preferred
• Strong understanding of internal audit principles, risk management and governance frameworks
• Proficiency in audit methodologies, planning and sampling techniques
• Excellent English and Bahasa Malaysia communication skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit management software

About the Role
We are seeking an Executive Audit to join Vacasia Tours & Travels Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our internal audit function, responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of our risk management, control, and governance processes. As an Executive Audit, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the organisation's assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing valuable insights to senior management on operational efficiency and financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, conduct and document comprehensive internal audits across various departments and business functions, including financial operations, travel services delivery and administrative processes

Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management frameworks and governance structures to ensure alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements

Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies and compliance gaps, and provide detailed recommendations for improvement

Prepare detailed audit reports with clear findings, observations and actionable recommendations for management review and implementation

Follow up on audit findings and recommendations to ensure management has implemented appropriate corrective actions within agreed timescales

Assist in the development and maintenance of audit plans, audit procedures and audit documentation standards

Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies on audit-related matters as required

Contribute to the identification and assessment of risks within the organisation and support the development of risk mitigation strategies

Maintain confidentiality and independence in all audit activities, ensuring objectivity and professional integrity

What We're Looking For

Professional qualification in accounting or audit such as ACCA, CA, CPA or equivalent recognised certification

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in internal audit, external audit or accounting roles, preferably within the hospitality, tourism or travel industry

Strong understanding of internal audit principles, risk management and governance frameworks

Proficiency in audit methodologies, audit planning and sampling techniques

Excellent knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, financial reporting requirements and relevant regulatory frameworks

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify control weaknesses and assess risk implications

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and audit management software

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels

High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate audit documentation

Professional demeanour, integrity and the ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

Ability to manage multiple audit assignments simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
