Job Title: ESG Data Analyst – Carbon Accounting & Sustainability Reporting (Kuala Lumpur)
About the Role Are you an analytical data specialist looking to drive real sustainability impact for a global industry leader? An established international market leader in agricultural equipment and automation is seeking a precise and driven ESG Data Analyst to join their team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Reporting directly to headquarters in Germany, you will serve as the key user and process owner for the organization's global carbon accounting software. In this role, you will lead end-to-end ESG data aggregation, ensure audit-ready regulatory compliance, and deliver actionable insights that directly shape commercial and operational strategies across Asia and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Carbon Accounting & Process Ownership: Act as the global key user and process owner for the company’s carbon accounting software.
Data Aggregation & Scope 1–3 Tracking: Aggregate, process, and analyze complex datasets covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions, energy usage, waste, and supply chain logistics across multiple business units.
Data Validation & Audit Readiness: Cross-reference utility bills, invoices, and operational logs to validate data accuracy and maintain audit-ready reporting.
Framework Compliance: Ensure all reporting aligns strictly with regional mandates and global standards, including ESRS, GRI, TCFD, ISSB, and IFRS S1/S2.
Dashboards & BI Visualizations: Design and maintain interactive Power BI or Tableau dashboards to track sustainability performance against climate targets and identify root causes for negative ESG trends.
Product & Customer Footprinting: Coordinate Product Carbon Footprints (PCF) for livestock equipment and support the Environmental Solutions Team in determining carbon reduction potential for customer projects.
Global Coordination: Work closely with international teams across different countries to maintain consistent, high-quality data collection standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related quantitative field.
Experience: Preferably 5+ years of hands‑on experience in ESG reporting frameworks (GRI, TCFD, IFRS S1/S2, ESRS).
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and SQL, along with strong experience in BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
Domain Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and carbon accounting software (major plus).
Core Competencies: Proven capability to translate large, unstructured datasets into clear operational insights, work independently, and communicate effectively across international teams.
