Job summary

Kerry Malaysia is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to lead the site EHS Management System, drive continuous improvement, and ensure regulatory compliance at our Johor sites (Tampoi or Pasir Gudang). You will develop emergency plans, coordinate drills, and work with cross-functional teams to address environmental and safety issues.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in technical EHS/OSH within multinational food manufacturing, with strong OSHA, EMS, and ISO45001/ISO14001

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in a technical EHS/OSH role in multinational food manufacturing
• Degree or master in Engineering, Environmental, Health & Safety or Chemistry
• Registered with DOSH as a competent Safety & Health Officer (green book)
• Scheduled Waste Management competency
• NEBOSH/AGT advantageous
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA 2022
• ISO45001 & ISO14001 knowledge; lead auditor advantageous
• Strong influencing, organizational and technical skills

Responsibilities

• Ensure effectiveness of the EHS Management system, both theoretical and practical.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans; conduct drills and exercises to test ERP effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address EHS issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Communicate with employees, management, regulators, and stakeholders; conduct training sessions.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with authorities by developing EHS programs and policies; provide technical EHS support.
• Review and validate reports; perform gap analyses and EHS projects (14001/45001, WWTP/IETS, RSA).
• Interpret standards and advise management on corrective actions; enforce regulatory adherence and Kerry standards.
• Drive annual EHS action plans; evaluate effectiveness and chair the EHS committee.
• Partner with other functions to reduce environmental impact and waste; perform assignments for career development.
• Provide EHS support to other Kerry sites.

About the role

The role is instrumental for overall effectiveness of Environmental, Safety & Health (EHS) Management System. The candidate shall drive continuous improvement for EHS, ensure operational sustainability and excel in standard and compliance.

The role will support Kerry's site in Tampoi, Johor or Pasir Gudang, Johor

Key responsibilities

Ensure effectiveness of overall EHS Management system, both theoretical and practical.

Develop and maintain emergency response plans including conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of ERP and ensure readiness to respond to emergencies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to address environmental, health, and safety issues and drive continuous improvement in EHS.

Communicate effectively with employees, management, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders on EHS matters, including conducting training sessions and presentations as needed.

Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant authorities' regulations by developing and implementing EHS programs. Policies and management system. To provide a technical support on EHS.

To review & validate report, compile analysis, advise and follow-up with site on 14001 & 45001 Compliance, Gap Analysis, WWTP/IETS, RSA (HEA & HPRA) and EHS Project

Interpreting standard, advising management on needed actions, enforcing adherence to regulation (i.e. OSHA 2022, EQA and FMA) and Kerry corporate standard (RSA & Kerry Global).

To drive the EHS yearly action plan and evaluate the effectiveness.

Ensure effectiveness of EHS Committee and advise as necessary.

Partnering with other functions in continually reducing the environment impact through reduction of resources use and the reduction of waste generation.

To perform any task assigned by the superior/dotted superior from time to time for career enhancement.

Provide EHS support to other Kerry sites.

Qualifications and skills

Minimum of 6-year experience in a Technical EHS/OSH role in multinational food manufacturing industry

High knowledge OSHA, EMS & WWTP/IETS Technology & Process would be an advantage.

Degree / master's in engineering, Environmental, Health & Safety, Chemistry or equivalent.

Registered with DOSH as a competent Safety & Health Officer (valid green book holder).

Possess Scheduled Waste Management Competency

NEBOSH, AGT, Train the Trainer would be an advantage.

In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) 2022.

Knowledge in ISO45001 & ISO14001along with lead auditor experience is an advantage.

Influencing skill in driving EHS culture
