Job summary

Dexcom Malaysia is seeking an Engineering Technician to support equipment engineers in scale-up manufacturing for Dexcom products. You will test, troubleshoot, install, and validate automated equipment, work from schematics and plans, and ensure safety practices.

2–5 years of related experience and ability to read technical documents are required. The role is based in Penang on-site with hands-on opportunities in a fast-growing CGM company.

Responsibilities

• Work from schematics, diagrams, written/verbal descriptions to perform testing and troubleshooting.
• Operate, test, and maintain robotic equipment, vision systems, and packaging machine.
• Perform operational tests and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
• Assist equipment development activities under supervision, including assembly and testing of equipment and electronics.
• Follow safety programs (LOTO) and update equipment documentation as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned and ensure tasks with safety requirements.

Meet the team:

Under the direction of the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, the Engineering Technician provides technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation and transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new Dexcom products. These duties include supporting cross-functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines.

Where you come in:

• You work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.
• You operate, test, and maintain robotic equipment, vision systems and packaging machine.
• You perform operational tests and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
• You have the ability to perform equipment activities in equipment development under the supervision of the equipment engineer, including assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes, and/or electronics, and completing engineering studies and validations.
• You follow Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program.
• You assume and perform other duties as assigned.
• You perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.
• You update equipment-related documentation (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed.
• You use hand and power tools, multimeters, amp meters, manufacturer test equipment, and calipers.

What makes you successful:

• You have a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience.
• You have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
• You have the ability to write routine reports, pass downs, and correspondence.
• You can effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers, and managers.
• You possess knowledge of high-reliability, high-volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Your proficiency includes technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development, with experience in creating and revising technical documentation
