Job summary

Dexcom is seeking an Engineering Technician to provide technical support for equipment engineers, enabling the scale‑up of manufacturing for Dexcom products. You will work on robotic equipment, vision systems, and packaging machines, performing testing, troubleshooting, and documentation tasks.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining equipment, conducting fault isolation, and updating technical manuals while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2–5 years of related experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
• Ability to write routine reports, pass downs, and correspondence.
• Ability to present information to supervisors, engineers, and managers.
• Knowledge of high-reliability, high-volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Technical writing skills applied to manufacturing documentation and process development.

Meet The Team

Under the direction of the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, the Engineering Technician provides technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation and transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new Dexcom products. These duties include supporting cross-functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines.

Where You Come In

• You work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.


• You operate, test, and maintain robotic equipment, vision systems and packaging machine.


• You perform operational tests and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.


• You have the ability to perform equipment activities in equipment development under the supervision of the equipment engineer, including assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes, and/or electronics, and completing engineering studies and validations.


• You follow Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program.


• You assume and perform other duties as assigned.


• You perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.


• You update equipment-related documentation (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed.


• You use hand and power tools, multimeters, amp meters, manufacturer test equipment, and calipers.
